Today, there was a blood drive in my school.
As the nurse was putting betadine on my arm, I look over to see on of the senior girls from my class. She is terrified of needles and was trembling as she gave blood. When I asked her she gave a simple response: Fear shouldn't stop you from doing something right.
People like her GMH.
love love love this! i used to be absolutely terrified of needles but chose to give blood because of a blood shortage. now i donate as often as i can and try to recruit as many donors as i can!!! GMH!
I would love to give blood, but being anemic it isn't exactly advised. People who can give blood and do, despite their fear, GMH.
This story inspires me to go donate blood, too, and I cry when I get shots or blood drawn. It's true, though; fear shouldn't stop you from doing something right, and it shouldn't stop me from doing anything, either. Thanks for posting this... it GMH.
Woah! I'm terrified of shots!

That's pretty brilliant. Good for her!

how absolutely heartwarming :) I wish I could give blood but I'm only sixteen (where I am, you have to be 18 to give blood) needles don't bother me though, so when I can I absolutely will.
I had cancer when I was 9. when I am at the age to give blood, I will be unable to give it. it makes me sad that I can not give back to the blood bank because of my illness that caused me to need blood. thank you to everyone who gives blood and saved lifes like mine!
Okay, OP. You inspired me. My school is having a blood drive, and unless I'm underweight again, I'm donating, fear of needles or not!
Love this! I definitely want to donate blood, but I'll have to wait for senior year next year and gain a few pounds.
wow that's so fucking cheeesy!
