#4, I think its a wonderful idea and I did it too. I always get happy when I get text messages even if they aren't personal, specially if they are as hopeful and optimistic as the one you sent! ^-^
All chain letters are viral manipulation mind-games. The If you don't create and stop spreading them, you will make people happy and won't risk annoying someone. If you want to say something nice to a friend, by all means go for it, but with your own words and w/o the "Pass it on" attached. Otherwise it's just a commercial.

I would like this if it didn't have the phrase "Send this to each beautiful person you know". that's what makes this chain mail as opposed to a thoughtful text.
