While I was working out I realized that I've lost over 50 lbs this past year by going to the gym nearly every day and eating right. After 5 years of struggling with my weight and participating in fad diets, I may still be overweight, but I'm finally starting to feel beautiful. It GMH.

It's great that you've lost that much weight, and doing it the right way too! I admire so much that you didn't give into the pressure society weighs on us, and you kept on going. Don't just feel beautiful - you are beautiful.
Great job! Listen to #1, she's right! :D

#5: you don't decide who's beautiful. everyone is beautiful.
i love what #6 said and they are right, you dont have the right to decide who's beautiful. everyone is beautiful. As for the person who put up this story, keep going you are amazingly beautiful in everything you do :))
@ #5: I don't think you know the true meaning of the word beautiful... beauty goes far beyond looks!
Those fad diets never work. Cool that you've found something that makes you feel good. In regard to #5, technically that's true. But what's beautiful to one person may be ugly to another. What matters is that the OP feels beautiful. Because how a person feels about themselves does determine how others see them.
Kudos to you for being motivated! I agree #6 :)
I have been fighting a weight loss battle all my life- I was always on the verge of being obese, and was getting so sick of hearing my parents rag on me about it that I insisted I loved my image when really, it tore me apart.
I started Weight Watchers in February after having 'competition diets' with my father for years. They never worked and left me feeling hungry, dissatisfied, and worst of all, I felt like I was struggling to hold on in some vicious battle.
Since starting WW, I've lost 20 pounds. My ultimate goal is 43lbs- I'm 5'4'', and that is roughly 1/5 of my starting weight.
I'm so proud of you for being diligent and so motivated. I know how hard it is to struggle for each pound and to keep going back to the exercise no matter how sore, angry, tired, or miserable you may feel. Congratulations.
Always feel beautiful- you are. You're beautiful for being motivated, for being strong, for realizing you were dissatisfied and doing something about it. You're a beautiful person for being proud enough to post your story, and you deserve the support and love of all around you, including us here at GMH.
Let me know if you ever want to chat. I'd be honored.
Thank you for being an inspiration.
OP - and all commenters - you ARE beautiful!
Well, um, you just kind of gave me hope...so maybe I can be thin...so I guess what I'm trying to say is thanks so much for this post.
Congrats on your success! You are not alone on this journey! YOU are beautiful!
You're an inspiration! You're beautiful no matter what; always remember that. :)
Coming back and reading all of the comments on my submission, GMH. :D Thanks for all the lovely comments. I really appreciate it.
everyone is beautiful and you should always believe that. www.operationbeautiful.com was a really uplifting site for me that I actually heard about on this site. you all should all check it out it's really something.
My dear.
You are beautiful.
I made an account so i could tell you that you were, are, and always will be incredibly beautiful, no matter what.
Keep that in mind, and never lose sight of your dreams.
I admire you for your dedication, and i hope everything in life turns out great for you.
Your story GMH!
Much love, my dear.
that is really weird.
that story sounds exactly like what happened to my sister
and her name is maggie
you dont need to worry about your weight.
i can tell that you are absolutely beautiful :]
dont deny yourself the happiness of this knowledge
You don't need to be thin to be beautiful, trust in yourself, and don't listen what media says about beauty. The only reason you'd have to lose weight is health, but I'm pretty sure you won't need so. Stay lovely.
Congrats! That's amazing. This week is Fat Talk Free Week. So remember everyone, it doesn't matter your weight. You are always beautiful on the inside.
