During WWII, my friend's grandpa was captured and tortured, but he refused to reveal his mission. The japanese said if he didn't spill, they would kill the other five captured men. He wouldn't budge. He escaped, but he had to live with their blood on his hands. 25 years later, he found out they all lived. Not a single one talked. GMH

A female platypus sweats milk.
The platypus does not suckle its young like other mammals do. It does not have nipples, but it exudes milk from specialized sweat glands on its abdomen. Scientists are not sure exactly why milk is sweated out instead of regular water.

When my dad suddenly died, my girlfriend came with me to my parents' house for a week where she cooked every meal, babysat my three nieces, fed the dog, cleaned the house, and spent a lot of her own money on groceries.
I later learned her boss didn't want to let her have the week off, so she quit her job to hold my family together.

Wow, that was an amazing story.
whoa,, this is REALLY amazing! rock on, grandpa! lol
this makes me love America ALL THE MORE! thanks for your grandpa and those five other men for such great patriotism.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: God bless our great country & God bless the men and women who would willingly sacrifice for the nation we love.
And even THEN they didn't give into peer pressure. INSPIRATIONAL.
tears, in my eyes, at this moment. So awesome.
God bless. Your Grandpa and those men are true heroes. Loyalty seems to be a forgotten trait these days. :)
huge history fan here! thats amazing...kudos. KUDOS!!!!!
real big nationalismmmm sweet!
Your grandpa totally kicks ass :)
phenomenal! That is an amazing story! Boy, I can't even imagine the joy that man must have felt when he found out they survived!
I will survive! I'm gonna make it through! Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. Awesome story, by the way.
wo. kick-ass gramps!! what an amazing patriot. way to go grandpa.
i agree with #12 its amazing how people would sacrifice their lives for the USA i wish i was brave enough to do that :(
@ #19
... um, nevermind the fact that we dropped TWO atomic bombs on two of their major cities, right...?
Go Grandpa! That's just awesome. GMH.
@ #23 good point.
go grandpa(s) !
patriotism makes me sick, but this really made me smile :))) [and no im not american so no replies with '@#27 DONT U LUV AMERICAAAA?!23121?!.' I hate patriotism of any nation, including my own]
We weren't exactly guiltless... we paved the war for a nuclear war that may one day kill us all, or our grandchildren, or even theirs...
Having all of his men killed because he didn't talk is worse than killing him. But still didn't budge, we know nothing of his mission, might have had plans on the invasion of Guadalcanal or Iwo Jima! Therefor not giving up the information even thought threatened with something that severe.. All six of them! Is indeed one of the bravest things you can do.. And they would have killed him anyway, that's just how they rolled. No i am not American.. Australian.. Too many Americans. :-P
#27, i agree with you. This GMH is really nice. :)
If there were more people like your friend's grandfather, the world would be a better place.
I don't want to be a downer and my grandfather was also in WWII but if it were up to me to either give away a mission or 5 people die I would give up my mission to let 5 people live... lives are more important than information.
I do like this GMH, but I have to agree with #33
# 33 & # 34:
If they had the information these men refused to give, they would have been expendable. Likely, blabbing would have done nothing but killed all 6 men, in the end.
Oh, and if Grandpa is still alive, OP, interview him and find a local war museum. They would appreciate it.
I agree with peaceandchange. Loyalty has become forgotton and now it's all about money. Ur grandfather is an amazing man and so are the other 5 men. What people would risk for our country is truly amazing. Reading this GMH
didnt anyone else notice the fact that the japanese soldiers chose not to kill these american soldiers, even though they were at war? thats what gmh :)
oops sorry for the blank comment, my bad. your grandpa gmh
Your grandpa GMH. Like the other guy said, what people do for their country. BTW I'm going to be in the military when I grow up =))
The story is neat, but imagining their reunion is what gets me.
I have heard that before. Wait I know a person who has experience the same thang.
hahahaha! what a badass!!
I SALUTE THESE FINE VETERAN!!
wow I liked this story a lot. it made me smile to read how much patriotism exists out there in our country :)
i was a bit confused after reading this story but then decided to interpret it as every one of those men were threatened with death of the others if none of them spoke. the fact that none of the men spoke and they're all still alive... surely it's also the japanese that gmh? i'm also glad that someone also saw this (idontknow)
