There's this girl in my class that makes these elaborate birthday cards for all the people that she knows. She passes the card around to all the person's friends so they can write messages. She never forgets anyone's birthday even when there's 5 at once. She GMH

I have a little sister who suffers from mental retardation. My mother told her I was gay and that "gay people don't go to heaven'. My sister started sobbing saying, "It wouldn't be heaven if Paloma wasn't there." My sister's unconditional love GMH.

When I was out of school and in the hospital for a week for trying to kill myself, my friend made sure to finish all my projects in school so I wouldn't be stressed when I came home. His kindness GMH.

A long time ago, I was on the verge of committing suicide when a guy came to the roof to have lunch. He saw me climbing over the railing and asked me to share his lunch with him. After receiving my puzzled look, he explained, "everyone should die happy. or at least with a full stomach." We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last month. GMH.

I was having a really bad day but still had to go to work nannying a six-year-old boy. He wanted to go for a walk, and found dandelions. I explained that he could make a wish and blow the seeds to the sky. After doing this, he said, "I want to tell you my wish. I wished that I could see you every single day." It doesn't feel like a job anymore.

Today, at an assembly, i saw a guy in my grade getting picked on by some guys on the football team because he was gay. the brutal insults went on for about five minutes until the quarterback, the king of our school, stood up and announced he was gay. nobody ever made fun of the kid again. after, i asked him if he really was gay. He isn't. GMH.

My father was diagnosed with cancer and passed away 4 years ago. Recently, I stopped by his online blog. I found out my son had been leaving him comments, saying things like how he missed him, and how he is studying hard in school, and that he would study hard to find a cure to cancer so that people wont miss their grandfather like he does. GMH

Today, at my work, my coworker began to cry. He'd gotten an email from the father of a little girl he'd flown in his plane, before his business went bust. She just died of cancer, and she told her father that she wasn't afraid of death because of what my he did for her. She was 8 years old. He GMH.

In this town, you don't need a bike lock, people put notices up for lost $20 bills, shopkeepers leave their stuff outside everynight, kids pay for their candy into a jar without a storekeeper. Nothing is ever stolen. This town GMH.

A couple of years ago, when I was a sophomore in high school, I went on my very first date. When the door bell rang my mom got up to go answer the door, but my brother told her that he wanted to do it. When he opened the door he told my date that if anything happened to me that he would personally beat him up. He was only 11 years old. His love GMH

When I entered middle school I saw this super cute seventh grade boy. I liked him ever since that day even though we NEVER talked. Then one day in my sophomore year he came up to me during lunch. He said, "You know, I've always thought you were beautiful." That blew me away. We have been married for 11 years. To this day he GMH.

Today, my aunt dragged me along to the mall to go shopping. While in the store, she critisized me, calling me fat and comparing me to 'Ugly Betty'. When I walked out of the store, a boy held the door open and whispered 'I don't know what she's talking about'. GMH.

Dads like this exist. GMH

A few years ago, I was out with my gorgeous best friend, feeling like the most ugly girl in the room. Sensing this, an elderly gentleman won a stuffed animal from the crane machine, comes over and says "a stuffed animal for the prettiest girl in the room." I still feel like it. GMH.

A couple years ago, before our prom, we went out to dinner. As we finished eating, we overheard a couple little girls telling their mom, "Mommy, are those girls princesses?" We were all dateless, but we felt beautiful. Little girls who believe in Real Princesses give us hope :)

I was in class one day when my boyfriend, who had been deployed for two years, came walking into the classroom. I had no idea he was back in the States. I've never cried harder in my life then I did when I saw him walk in. As I was hugging him, he got down on one knee and proposed to me. We're getting married in the fall. GMH.

A few months ago, I went to a pre-school to help some teachers out with the kids. I had just broken up with my boyfriend, and I was really down the whole day. But then one little boy gave me a drawing of the house we would live in when he married me. He told me he loved me. GMH.

My family & I got seperated in New York City when I was little. Scared, I sat crying on the sidewalk as tons of people passed by. A homeless man picked me up, comforted me, & carried me to a police officer, who found my parents. He had a long beard & I asked if he was Jesus. He laughed so hard he cried. He GMH.

A few months ago, I was at dinner with friends, and we ended up having an emotional talk (mostly about my self-esteem issues) and I cried for about half of dinner. When I got the receipt, the stunning waitress had written something across the top: "You're even beautiful when you cry." GMH

Lately my dad has been really angry and distant, and i feel like it's just wearing my mom down. I went home to visit today and found a journal in the bathroom. Each day my dad writes a new thing he loves about my mom and leaves it for her to read. GMH

I was recently working at a nursery school where I saw a 3 year old girl wearing tights on her head. One of my colleagues told me it was because some of the children had been making fun of her bald head. She had had chemotherapy. I later saw one young boy of about 4 go over to her, tell her she was beautiful and remove the tights. GMH x

Every year, the graduating 8th grade class votes for superlatives. The teachers add up the votes. When 'Jordan A' was announced for Most Inspirational, teachers were in tears to see our entire class who never get along, give a standing ovation. He died in a fire in fourth grade and we still consider him part of our class.

I was in line to get a sandwich and saying to my friend that I felt fat, having gained 10 pounds this summer because of a medical condition i'm getting surgery for soon. The man behind the counter, a very cute teenage guy, gave me my drink for free. When I asked him why, he replied that "he was a sucker for beautiful girls" and winked. He GMH

At my college graduation everyone is allowed to take a loved one with them as they walk across the stage. The last girl to walk across held the arm of her 90 year old grandpa. As they crossed the stage the chancelor read her grandfathers name. He graduated 60 years ago but didn't get to walk his own graduation because he was fighting in WWII. GMH.

While riding a hotel bus to Disney Magic Kingdom, I overheard a father telling his young daughter they would be taking the ferry to another area. The young girl looked up at her dad and asked, "What will the fairy be wearing?" Yes, for children Disney is a magical place where dreams come true...like riding a fairy. GMH

Today, a man with a guitar sang a beautiful song for my girlfriend and i at the beach and never even asked for tips. I had no idea how this guy was. His random act of kindness GMH.

I work in a bank - a place where good news is hard to come by recently: Today I spoke with a gentleman who told me he needed to know how much money he had. When I asked if he had a large purchase coming up, he said yes. "I'm buying clothes for the man who asks me for a quarter every day on my way to school," he replies. This gentleman was 12. GMH

Exactly 8 months ago my grandpa lost his battle with cancer. By the end he couldn't talk and wouldn't respond to any of us. A few moments before he took his last breath, he looked at my grandma and said clear as day "I love you". They were married 51 years. GMH!!

I just read an amazing article about a little girl with cancer whose dying wish was to see Up! She was too sick to attend the theatre. Upon hearing this, Pixar sent over a staffer with gifts and a DVD. She couldn't open her eyes, so her mom described it. She passed away that night after seeing it. GMH.

Today, my boyfriend dumped me. I was sitting by myself at a park, unable to speak without crying. A little girl comes up to me and asks me "what's wrong?" I replied with teary eyes that I was hurting. Without a question, she sat next to me and held my hand until I stopped crying. Her kindness GMH

I was sitting on the bench outside of work one day trying to fix my make up. An elderly man walked passed me with his groceries heading towards his car in the huge Walmart parking lot. He then returned back a minute or so later to tell me "you're beautiful without all that stuff, and you don't need it." Groceries still in hand. GMH

Today, I sent a text message to everyone that said: "You are truly beautiful, unique, and perfect. Smile because you are you and no one else! Send this to each beautiful person you know. Givesmehope.com" GMH.

My mother loved kids. A lot. She taught at a local head start school for many years. When she got cancer she refused to quit working fo the kids. They had to change the locks on the door to make her stay home because she was so sick. A year after she died, they named the school after her. GMH.

I'm a nurse, and one day a woman came in to have open-heart surgery. A few minutes before she was going to be knocked out her 6 year old daughter came rushing in, yelling "Wait!" She gave her mother a locket and said "I spent all my money on it. I bought it so you'd be okay." She GMH.

Just the other day, I had a mental breakdown. Afterwards, I looked through my facebook page and see my friend tell me, 'I've always admired your smile. I'm learning to smile in pictures now because of you.' Not only did that make my day, it also GMH.

Today I read a message popup by msn, it was about a tick species from Brazil, their venom often causes high fevers, however, the spit of those ticks attacks tumors and cancer cells, but leaves other cells in your body alone. Being this close to finding a cure for cancer GMH.

I was at the airport boarding a business flight. There was a lady on standby, who announced that she had a 17 year old daughter who was in labor, and needed to get to her. Everyone was ignoring her pleas until a teenager - about 17 - stepped up and said she'd be happy to give up her ticket. GMH

One day I received in the mail from my grandmother a little slip of paper from an article asking kids "what does love mean?". One boy answered, "Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other", this 5 yr old GMH.

I lived with an abusive mother, and a friend offered to let me live with him. When I talked to his mom about it, she said she wanted to take me in 6months ago when we first met. She introduces me to people as her daughter, and she's the only real mom I've ever had. I was 17 when I moved in. She GMH.

While flying a kite on the beach, I dropped the string. It was so windy, the kite went flying too fast for me to catch up to it. A man came from nowhere, ran past me, and dove face-first into the sand to catch the line for me. He had the biggest smile on his face as he handed it back to me. I'm 22. He was at least 50. His young spirit GMH.

Yesterday, when I took my four year-old daughter to a bookstore, she found a book on a bottom shelf and took it to a group of three teenage girls, asking them to read it to her. The first two girls ignored her, but the last girl read to her for half an hour with sound effects and all. That girl GMH.

I stopped by the house of the little girl I babysit today to say hi, although I was busy with college apps and didn't want to stay long. She ran to get me a story that she's been writing. Guess who the main character is? She remembered all the names of my family, as well as the colleges I'm interested in. I smiled so hard that my face hurt. GM

During the school year one of my classmates passed away, and his last name was Green. the next day everyone in school was wearing all different shades of green. I've never seen anything more beautiful. It GMH.

While at the mall, a friend and I spotted an elderly man sitting alone on a bench. We bought a card, and wrote a happy message inside, gave it to him, and walked away. About an hour later, he found us again, and said our card had lifted his spirits immensely, as his wife had just died a few weeks ago. He then handed us both a pretty pink rose. GMH.

In the 1st grade I got a new bus driver, Mrs. J. When my mom left me 2 years later, she stepped in to be a mom figure. On my last day in the 11th grade she told me she was changing jobs. We both cried. After the summer, I stepped on the bus, & there was Mrs. J, crying, she said "I couldn't leave you". She stayed until my graduation. Her love GMH

Last year, I had a friend die in a gunfight. To deal with it I started drinking. One day a friend put a pair of headphones on me and I heard the words "I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone." I've been sober since that day. My Chemical Romance GHM.

My aunt was explaining to my five year old cousin that people got married because they loved each other and were each others best friends he replied that he was going to marry his best friend too. His best friend is a boy. His innocence GMH

At one point in my life i was extremly depressed and suicidal. I had, had a really bad day and was fed up with everything. Right as i was about to swollow a bottle of pills my best friend texted me saying "i just want you to know i love you." Him and his timing GMH.

My friend's father had passed away almost a year ago. His whole family was still upset, and though my friend was greatly affected, he knew his little brother missed his dad even more. He wrote his little brother a "note" from their dad in the heavens. His little brother cried as he read "dad's note". My friend GMH.

Today I had Varsity soccer tryouts. The extremely Christian coach told me I couldn't try out because I'm gay and he felt weird having me on the team. I felt so bad about myself, until I found out every single other guy trying out left too, even 4th year varsity returners. Their kindess GMH.

My boyfriend knows I am not exactly pleased with my looks, yet constantly insist on telling me I'm beautiful. Today I opened my wallet to find a little fortune cookie paper that said "you're pretty :)" placed over my license. His love and consistency GMH.

Back in January, I had walked to a convenient store on a cold night to get myself juice. My best friend called me and asked what I was doing so I told him. We just kept talking and as I was leaving the store he told me to turn around. He was waiting for me to take me home. I live 5min away. We've now been dating for 6mnths. He GMH
