3 years ago, I was at my grade 8 dance. A boy in our school named Brian (who has Williams' syndrome) asked a popular girl at our school to dance . Her and her friends began to laugh at him, and then said no. He then went to the corner of the gym to dance by himself. I then saw another girl in my class go up and ask him to dance. They did. GMH

I work in a bank - a place where good news is hard to come by recently: Today I spoke with a gentleman who told me he needed to know how much money he had. When I asked if he had a large purchase coming up, he said yes. "I'm buying clothes for the man who asks me for a quarter every day on my way to school," he replies. This gentleman was 12. GMH

I woke up one morning to hear the birds outside my window and my mother cooking breakfast downstairs. I've never cried so much in my entire life. I had been deaf since the age of 8.

Freshman year, there was a crippled girl bound to a wheelchair. For 4 years, she did physical therapy and progressed to crutches. When we graduated a few weeks ago, she handed her crutches to an officer and walked across the entire stage. The applause from the seniors was deafening. She cried the whole way. GMH

A little girl was dying of cancer and her younger brother had a match for the bone marrow she needed. The doctors told him it was a matter of life and death. After he had the surgery, he asked the doctors how long he had to live. He thought if he gave his bone marrow to let his sister live he would die but he did it anyway. GMH

I was at a bookstore and an obscure author was doing a book signing. Nobody was coming over--he looked dejected. Then three teenagers came over, got his autograph & took pictures with him. It looked like it made his day. Later, I talked to them and they said they had never read his books. GMH

I was sick and couldn't sleep and was afraid that I was keeping my husband awake. I told him that I would sleep in the living room since he had to go to work in the morning. He picked up my blankets and pillows and joined me in the living room because he didn't want me to sleep alone. HIs love GMH.

A few months ago, I was at dinner with friends, and we ended up having an emotional talk (mostly about my self-esteem issues) and I cried for about half of dinner. When I got the receipt, the stunning waitress had written something across the top: "You're even beautiful when you cry." GMH

I was biking down a busy street when I saw all the cars stop. When I looked back, I saw a mother duck and her babies crossing: every single car had stopped to let them pass. And every driver looked so happy, no one mad about being cut off. If we can show this much care to the earth's littlest creatures, imagine what we can do for each other. GMH

Every 1000 bottle caps my friends mom collects, a 4 year old girl gets a free round of chemo. While i was at my brothers baseball game, collecting bottle caps, 3 little boys asked me what i was doing. They went around to every trash can, not caring what was in them & got bottle caps. We ended up with over 1500 caps. Their generation GMH.

From ABC News: A customer used the drive through at a Starbucks in Moline, IL over the weekend. That person paid for his or her drink and the order of the person in the next car. Today in the Walmart parking lot I saw an older couple, not exactly what you would call fit, leaving the store. The woman was carrying a bag and the man leaned over and took it from her. At the grocery store I work at, a young lady with a baby just got done scanning her cartfull or groceries, but both of her cards were denied and she had no cash. She quietly asked to have them put back, when the man behind her said 'I'll pay for them' and smiled. They were total strangers. GMH

I just read an amazing article about a little girl with cancer whose dying wish was to see Up! She was too sick to attend the theatre. In San Fran this little girl decided she wanted to help feed the homeless. She set a goal of raising $1000. The San Fransico Food bank "told her several agencies had pledged to provide $9 in food for every $1 donated to the food bank".
