After a domestic violence altercation, my bed-ridden mother and I were forced out of our home. My boyfriend sold his ipod, laptop and video game consoles and worked 45 hours a week while still attending school to help us afford an apartment without asking for a thing in return. His love GMH.

A boy was dying of cancer and needed an expensive brain surgery, but his family, broke and desperate, couldn't afford it. His 8 yr old took sister Tess took her piggy bank savings to a pharmacist in order to buy a 'miracle'. it just so happens that the right man witnessed the little girl's tears at the pharmacy counter: a neurosurgeon. He performed the surgery for free.

My mother has raised 3 children by herself, two of which are going to college, one is an honors student in high school. She's been homeless several times, was raped and kept the baby, and was disowned by every member of her family. She's 45 years old and attending college online with a GPA of 3.942. My mom GMH.

Today I was having a really awful day, after a bad break-up. My nine-year-old brother, although he did not understand why I was feeling this way, brought me a blanket, a cup of hot chocolate, and my favorite Harry Potter novel and gave me a big hug. His caring at a young age GMH.

Today, I proposed to my girlfriend of four years in a nice restaurant. When she said yes, the entire restaurant stood up and applauded.

We're both women.

I have a little sister who suffers from mental retardation. My mother told her I was gay and that "gay people don't go to heaven'. My sister started sobbing saying, "It wouldn't be heaven if Paloma wasn't there." My sister's unconditional love GMH.

My grandpa passed away on April 2nd 2009. Before my grandpa passed he pulled his oxygen mask off his face and lifted his hand up to his mouth. We thought he was going through pain. But instead he blew 3 kisses to my grandma, smiled, and passed away. RIP Grandpa i love you and You GMH.

A long time ago, I was on the verge of committing suicide when a guy came to the roof to have lunch. He saw me climbing over the railing and asked me to share his lunch with him. After receiving my puzzled look, he explained, "everyone should die happy. or at least with a full stomach." We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last month. GMH.

When my friend's brother told his family he was gay, his parents wanted to disown him. My friend told his parents that they either had two sons or none. My friend's support of his brother GMH.

When my best friend and I were young, we went to a fantasy gift shop together. We both wanted to buy Harry Potter wands, but my friend's mom wouldn't pay for hers. My mom offered to pay for both, but the salesmen told us he'd give us a special buy-one-get-one-free discount as long as we used them against Voldemort. We laughed and it GMH.

I woke up one morning to hear the birds outside my window and my mother cooking breakfast downstairs. I've never cried so much in my entire life. I had been deaf since the age of 8.

I was having a really bad day but still had to go to work nannying a six-year-old boy. He wanted to go for a walk, and found dandelions. I explained that he could make a wish and blow the seeds to the sky. After doing this, he said, "I want to tell you my wish. I wished that I could see you every single day." It doesn't feel like a job anymore.

22 years ago, a 16 year old girl was pregnant with a baby of rape.

Understanding the circumstances, her parents told her to abort or be disowned.

Her best friend - her 18 year old neighbor - although he was not the father, stepped into the father figures shoes. They got married 2 years later.

5 years ago, a friend from OK and I were talking about how we hardly ever get snow in TX. He said that he wished he could make it snow for me. Two years later, he died suddenly. By the time I found out, I had already missed the funeral. That same day, it snowed. Then it snowed again on my birthday. In April. Knowing he's watching over me GMH.

Last year, I was going to kill myself. I wrote a note and slipped it into my best friend's locker at school. That night, I was preparing to die, when she crawled through my window and kissed me. My first real kiss.

Today I found out about a 10-year-old boy who has been harrassed by his classmates because he refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance. Why? He says that until gays and lesbians have equal rights, there isn't really "liberty and justice for all". Kids with the courage to stand up for their fellow human beings GMH.

One day, while heavily pregnant with me, my mother fainted on the sidewalk. A homeless man she had never seen before made sure she got the hospital safely. Out of gratitude, my parents paid for his art courses at a local art school. 20 years later, and on every holiday, he sends my 4 year old beautiful picture books he illustrated himself. GMH

I was reading about a little kid whose mom told him the key to life was happiness. When he was in school the teacher asked them to write down what they wanted to be when they grew up. He said happy. They said he didn't understand the assignment. He said they didn't understand life. My generation GMH

Today I decided to get out of the house and just drive around.

I saw a man standing on the corner dancing around listening to his iPod. He was holding a sign that said "Everything is OK." He flashed me a smile and a thumbs up.

After having such an awful week, seeing his positive attitude and enjoyment of life GMH.

On Valentines' Day, I was at a flower shop.

A little boy walked up to the counter and asked to buy a red rose. Then the little boy opened his own little wallet and paid for it. I heard him say on the way out. 'Hurry before the graveyard closes, grandma waiting'.

His love to passed people gives me hope.

Once, at a college party some 15 year old girls showed up.

They got really drunk, and one of them started stripping on the dance floor. Seeing other guys eyeing her, some boys put their jackets around her and took her home.

Strangers caring GMH.

I use a power wheelchair on a college campus. One day, my chair battery died in the middle of campus with 3 more classes to attend and no way to get there. I quickly became a human baton, my 300 pound wheelchair being pushed though the rain by a series of strangers. I got to each of my classes and back home on time! Thank you relay team...you GMH!

Today, I was at knitting club. I am the youngest member at only 17 yrs. When an 80-yr-old asked me about my grandma, I started crying telling her how my grandma never loved me. She smiled at me and said, "I've never had grandkids, can I be your honorary grandma?" The next day she brought me cookies because that's what my grandma should do. GMH

My brother who has been severely autistic since birth has never been able to say my name properly and has never been able to make the connection and assosciate me as being his sister. I woke up today and went downstairs. My brother looked at me and said 'Kirsty sister!'. He's 28 and im 15. He made the connection. GMH.

One night while working as a resident at the hospital, we ran out of beds, meaning there was nowhere to put patients. I came home and while telling my husband this, my daughter walked in and said she can sleep on the floor, the patients can have her bed. She was three. GMH.

Everyday I give my niece one dollar for milk and pocket change for school and a few cents for allowance to teach her about money. I found out she's been giving it to a girl with financial troubles in her class instead everyday. She's 4 and in kindergarten.

Three years ago, my 3 year old half-sister was taken from my father and I by her mother. I saw her for the first time in 3 long years today. Afraid she wouldn't remember me, i began to cry when she walked up to me. She put her arms around my neck to hug me and said "It's okay, Sissy. You're just as pretty as I remember." She GMH

One night I ran out of formula for my son, I couldn't wait until the next day so I took him with me to the store, it came up to 15 dollars & I only had 10. When I told the cashier to take 2 back this older TALL cowboy behind me said "babygirl, you get that baby what he needs." He paid for everything I had. Cowboy man GMH.

I was wearing a short sleeved shirt for the first time in years. I was nervous that when my boyfriend saw my scars he wouldn't want to be with me anymore, instead he kissed my scars, and told me that if I ever felt bad enough to hurt myself again, that he would take the pain instead. He GMH

I turned on my TV this afternoon to watch some football. I was confused to see one of the players with pink cleats. But then I saw another. And another. And pink gloves. And pink hats. Then I saw the huge pink ribbons on the goal posts. All these huge, imposing men showing their support of breast cancer awareness for the women in their lives GMH.

When my dad suddenly died, my girlfriend came with me to my parents' house for a week where she cooked every meal, babysat my three nieces, fed the dog, cleaned the house, and spent a lot of her own money on groceries. I later learned her boss didn't want to let her have the week off, so she quit her job to hold my family together. Her love GMH.

A woman my mom works with has cancer and has been out of work for a long time. She recently found out she has to be out for longer but doesn't have enough sick days left to cover it. Every nurse on my mom's floor at the hospital is donating at least one of their paid sick days to her so she can finish her treatment -- and get paid for it. GMH.

For the past four years, the most beautiful, popular girl in my school has run an active anti-bullying campaign, always helping anyone she could. Yesterday, she lost her own battle with cancer. Today, almost every person in my entire school, staff and students, are wearing blue anti-bullying bracelets in support of her. RIP Chelsea Thomas, you GMH

I have a heart defect that's incurable resulting in minor heart attacks&fainting spells. One day after a nasty episode, I posted a vlog crying about how I felt helpess. The next morning, I learned 10,000 dollars had been donated in my youtube name to the Fight Against Heart Disease, anonymously. GMH

If you're reading this, I want to be the first to tell you that you look beautiful today. You guys GMH.

My family & I got seperated in New York City when I was little. Scared, I sat crying on the sidewalk as tons of people passed by. A homeless man picked me up, comforted me, & carried me to a police officer, who found my parents. He had a long beard & I asked if he was Jesus. He laughed so hard he cried. He GMH.

Freshman year, there was a crippled girl bound to a wheelchair. For 4 years, she did physical therapy and progressed to crutches. When we graduated a few weeks ago, she handed her crutches to an officer and walked across the entire stage. The applause from the seniors was deafening. She cried the whole way. GMH

When my daughter was 7 years old on the last day of school her favorite bus driver had said that she can't work as a bus driver anymore due to the low pay. After hearing this when it was my daughters stop she gave the bus driver her 1.80 cent from lunch and said thanks. The bus driver told me this story in tears saying my daughter was an angel. GMH

Earlier this year my family had been evicted from our home. We went to different places but I often ended up staying on the streets. I told a close friend of mine and his dad overheard what happened. He bought me food every day and let me stay over every night until things got better. He GMH.

A few years ago, I was sitting on a bus in the Dominican Republic with many other tourists waiting to go back to our resort. It was hot and many children were complaining to their parents. Then one man got up, counted the children and got off the bus. He went to the ice cream shop and bought every child an ice cream cone. He GMH and ice cream.

I was talking with this little girl I used to babysit for before I started college. I explained to her that I'd be gone for a while and would only see her when I came home for vacations. She said, "So you'll be gone for the whole year except summer and holidays?" I nodded. Then she said, "So you're going to Hogwarts?" GMH

A few months ago, my grandmother died of cancer.

With the few words she had left, she told me where to find my Christmas presents for the next three years, my high school graduation present, and my wedding present. As her youngest grandchild, she wanted to make sure she could be there for me even after she was gone.

For the last two weeks before he died, my cat could not see, hear or control his bowels. Through the whole thing, he never left my bed, and until the night before he died, whenever I picked him up, all tension would leave his body and he would relax. His sense of safety in my arms still GMH.

I was recently working at a nursery school where I saw a 3 year old girl wearing tights on her head. One of my colleagues told me it was because some of the children had been making fun of her bald head. She had had chemotherapy. I later saw one young boy of about 4 go over to her, tell her she was beautiful and remove the tights. GMH x

Every year, the graduating 8th grade class votes for superlatives. The teachers add up the votes. When 'Jordan A' was announced for Most Inspirational, teachers were in tears to see our entire class who never get along, give a standing ovation. He died in a fire in fourth grade and we still consider him part of our class.

Everyday before school my senior year, I would volunteer with disabled kids. On prom night, I noticed they weren't dancing with each other. I asked my date if it was okay to leave him for a slow dance to be with the kids, and he not only let me but danced with one of the disabled kids himself. GMH

On the weekend my friend accidentally left her wallet, which only had 35c in it, in the back of a taxi. Four days later, she found her wallet in her mail box, with $50 and a note inside: "We can see you need some money, so we're sending you some! - Marge and Jim (Parents of 4 previously "always poor" uni students). Their kindness GMH.

I was a single mom waitressing when my daughter had her first seizure. She needed tests and an 80 dollar co-pay I didn't have. I asked my boss to pick up hours and she told me no. An elderly man at my table's dinner cost 17 dollars. He left $100 and a note: "My daughter had seizures, too." GMH

My family makes it a tradition to have pizza on Friday nights. Once the pizza box is empty it goes into the recycling bin until Tuesday morning. A homeless man always comes and goes through them before they get picked up. Driving home late Tuesday morning, he was there waiting for us, holding the pizza cutter we'd left in the box. His honesty GMH.

When I was a little kid, my parents struck up a conversation with a stranger at a waterpark. My dad mentioned to her how much I loved Harry Potter, and when she got up to leave, she took her HP beach towel, draped it over my small shoulders, and walked away. Random acts of kindness GMH.

Today, I found GMH. After reading all the heartwarming stories, I walked into my room, and tore my suicide journal to shreds. I'm shaking out of happiness. GMH.

I was crying after a bad day. My three year old brother came into my room and cuddled in bed with me. When I didn't acknowledge him, he went out to the kitchen and came back with an ice cream sandwich and his favorite stuffed animal. He put them in bed beside me and petted my hair. His love GMH

When I was nine, I went to pay for a fancy gold-rimmed journal at Barnes and Noble and explained that this was the journal I was going to write my first book in. When the man rung me up, I was $6 short. He paid for the rest, saying the world needed writers like me. My first book is almost done, and it's written entirely in that journal. He GMH.

A few years ago my dad had a major stroke. He is paralyzed on the right side and he could not speak. He was in the hospital for months. But, for my birthday that year I got the most memorable present ever, my dad was able to come home. And the best part? He sang Happy Birthday. His perseverance GMH.

One of my best friends mother was murdered two weeks ago on the night of my friends prom. I never imagend she would get all the support that she has gotten. She is not a popular person in school. We graduated one week ago and she received a standing ovation from the crowd. It lasted 10 minutes. GMH

Ten years ago, my friend made an enemy. They didn't click at all and I think my friend really hurt that person. Flash forward. My friend is broke w/ kids, & after getting into huge trouble, really needed a lawyer and was referred to one. The lawyer was her old enemy & she took the case. For free.

During WWII, my friend's grandpa was captured and tortured, but he refused to reveal his mission. The japanese said if he didn't spill, they would kill the other five captured men. He wouldn't budge. He escaped, but he had to live with their blood on his hands. 25 years later, he found out they all lived. Not a single one talked. GMH

I was in a car accident. At the scene, one ambulance was prepared to have me taken to a local hospital where I would be pronounced DOA. A second ambulance arrived and argued that I deserved a chance to live, since I was only 16. Less than 3 weeks later I walked out of the hospital doors. GMH

My daughter has been telling me for a month that she was going as a person who really inspired her for Halloween but she wouldn't tell me who it was. Today, she came downstairs with a fake mustache, my jacket, my old glasses, and a "World's Best Dad" T-shirt. She was going as me. GMH

Today, I was on the London tube. I was looking at the posters as I went down the escalators and there was one on plastic surgery. Someone had placed a sticker over the womans face that read

'You don't need this. You are perfect the way you are.'

Cancer claimed my daughter's life 3 years ago. Just a few weeks ago I attended what would have been her high school graduation. When the valedictorian and salutatorian, her friends, rose to give their speech, tears poured down my face. They dedicated their graduation to my daughter. GMH.

Today, as I was walking my dog down a busy street, I sneezed. A man stopped his car, and rolled down his window, just to say "God bless you". GMH

There is an awesome restaurant in Washington state. Anyone is welcome to come and eat, they're even waited on, all without charge. At the end of the meal, diners can make a donation in any amount they choose. All money goes to helping less fortunate people in the town. Owners like that GMH.

Saw this on FML: "Today, I went to buy lunch at a grocery store. The total was 3 pounds, and my card got rejected for insufficient funds. I fished about for change, and found I only had 2 pounds. A homeless man behind me in the queue then offered to give me the remaining pound. A homeless man paid my lunch. FML"

FML?? GMH!

Recently I was at a convention with my friends, eating lunch, and then a man, in his early twenties, ran up to us asking if we had a spare tampon. We didn't, and saw him run off to all the other girls in the room, asking them, since his girlfriend needed one. I don't know a man who would do that for me. His love for her GMH.

My grandparents once gave a fleeing Nepalese woman rice and clothing for her children. Many years later, the woman appeared at their door offering formal thanks, and gave them a prayer wheel that had been in her family for generations. My grandparents still display her gift, 30 years later. GMH.

My cousin sent me 10 frantic messages on AIM today when I was away. What was she worried about? The Hunger Site (www.thehungersite.com) wasn't loading on her slower than average internet and she was worried that she couldn't click like she does every single day to give 1.1 cups of food to a needy person. Her selflessness at 9 years old GMH.

Today I was babysitting for a 5-year-old and a 7-year old. The 5-year-old is really afraid of thunder. When it started to thunder, I was surprised when she didn't come ask me to lay in her bed. I went to check and saw her big sister cuddling with her and telling her that thunder was just angels bowling. GMH

Watching the news I heard about an SUV that had caught fire, inside was a mom and her two young children. They all survived with fairly minor burns. The only reason they made it was because everyone who saw the fire rushed to help and break down all the windows and pull them out, before the firemen could even arrive.

It was my freshman year of college and I wandered around by myself feeling homesick and sad. I ducked into a little restaurant to grab some lunch with the few dollars I had. When I only ordered a small thing, the waiter brought me out a huge bowl of soup and a ton of delicious bread for free and then sat with me to talk. We're now friends. He GMH

My friend was always depressed. One day, she attempted suicide and a guy she never really talked to at school visited her at the hospital. He said, "Don't you dare do that again! You are the MOST beautiful girl that I have seen. EVER." That was 6 years ago. They're getting married this weekend. GMH

I've been fighting severe depression for nearly 4 years. My senior year of highschool, I nearly failed every class. Halfway through the year my english teacher asked me to stay after school. She stayed after unpaid every weekday to help me make up work. I graduated and I am now majoring in english education. Her kindness and inspiration GMH.

I'm 16 and am about to have a baby. I work a minimum wage job with about 15 other people who are just barely making it. My boss told me that me being pregnant was making him look bad and that I need to quit. I did. So did everyone else working there.

Today, I was walking to my car after work. I saw a large rougher looking man walking out to a dumpster and covering something up. As I got closer, he leaned down and a kitten appeared from underneath.. he was sneaking food out to a baby kitten. GMH.

I work in a day nursery. One day, a little boy was on my lap crying. Another little boy came over and saw he was crying, so he went and brought him a toy and put it in his lap. A little girl then came over, ran off to get a tissue from the wall dispenser and wiped his nose herself. These children are 18 months. Their concern for others GMH.

Last week our whole PE class had to run the mile. The biggest girl in our class said that she had never ran a mile, and that she just couldn't do it. All of the girls in my class ran with her, singing songs, telling her how great of a job she was doing, and clapping for her. She finished her first mile at 14:27. Her tears of joy GMH.

While at the store I noticed a man that was obviously mentally challenged. He wanted a free balloon that they give out to kids. They were out. A girl about 5 noticed him crying and walked up to him and said "here mister. you can have mine!" The look on his face was priceless. That girl GMH.

One of my brothers has had heart problems from birth. One year, he couldn't go trick-or-treating because he was in the hospital for a surgery. My other brother went trick-or-treating that year with two bags--one for himself, and one for his younger brother. It still GMH.

Yesterday, when I took my four year-old daughter to a bookstore, she found a book on a bottom shelf and took it to a group of three teenage girls, asking them to read it to her. The first two girls ignored her, but the last girl read to her for half an hour with sound effects and all. That girl GMH.

Once a desheviled woman approached by father and asked him if he would like to buy a $20 bouquet of long stemmed roses. He politely declined,started to drive away, then changed his mind. He rolled down the window and told the woman he would take some roses. After he paid, he handed the roses back to the woman and said "These are for you." He GMH.

One time when I was about 6 I was at a fair with my older sister (about 8) and her friend. Then some older kids, probably 15, came up to my sister and her friend and handed them their prizes, one stuffed animal each. Then they noticed me standing behind them, but they didn't have another prize. They played games until they won another for me. GMH

I was going to the hospital for a check up with my cardiologist. I saw an elderly couple walking to a car. The man was having a lot more trouble walking than his wife, but sped up in front of her, so he could open the car door for her and help her inside. Love like that GMH.

In 1980, my dad was able to get 60 Vietnamese people into the Philippines so they could escape and go to America. He was caught on his trip back and detained for a year with a warning, if he was ever caught again he would be executed. He was able to bring over 300 more after he was released, including all my family. I was born in 1990. He GMH

I am going through a nasty custody battle over my 19 month old son. I dropped my son off last week after my visitation and started crying because I would miss him so much. I gave him to his mother and he motioned to be put down. As she put him down he walked over to me, hugged my leg, gave me a kiss and said "Da Da no cry". My sons undying love GMH

A year ago I was shot in a mugging and I lost my kidney function. The man who mugged me's brother was a match and donated one of his kidney's to me because of how sorry he was. This man will forever GMH

While at the mall, a friend and I spotted an elderly man sitting alone on a bench. We bought a card, and wrote a happy message inside, gave it to him, and walked away. About an hour later, he found us again, and said our card had lifted his spirits immensely, as his wife had just died a few weeks ago. He then handed us both a pretty pink rose. GMH.

Today a young boy walked into the bank I work at and walked up to my station. He looked at me and said "You guys always give me lollipops, but no one ever gives you any". He had a Tootsie Pop for every teller in the branch. His kindness GMH.

Today, I attended my late grandma's funeral. In the middle of it, while I was struggling to maintain my composure, 12 friends from college showed up. My friends drove 80.18 miles and have NEVER met this woman. I'm a freshman. Friends like these GMH.
