My little 8 year old sister has leukemia. Today I visited her in hospital and she said to me

"Ellie, I know I'm going to die. But I know that I'm going to be coming back as a kitten. So after I'm gone and when a kitten comes to your door. It will be me. I will always love you. Even when I'll be a cat".

Her beautiful words GMH.

I just got confirmation that I'll be donating bone marrow for a girl with leukemia. Another life saved. GMH.

Today, I proposed to my girlfriend of four years in a nice restaurant. When she said yes, the entire restaurant stood up and applauded.

We're both women.

Understanding of true love GMH.

There are but two boys in my high school who have openly admitted they are gay.

They are constantly spit at and beat on in school, yet the more confident always holds the shyer one's hand. Despite threats, they showed up to prom together, wearing matching suits.

Seeing them on the dance floor, ignoring the world GMH.

Today, my girlfriend, who can't swim, tried to kill herself by jumping into the Potomac River.

Without a moments hesitation, I witnessed my ex-girlfriend, the girl who I broke up with because of my current girlfriend, jump in and save her life.

Girls like that GMH.

Today, a boy came into our English class to ask his significant other to Prom in a cute, creative manner.

After receiving a yes, the boy kissed my classmate's cheek, and the room erupted in applause.

They're both boys.

Our tolerance, and their courage, GMH.

A long time ago, I was on the verge of committing suicide when a guy came to the roof to have lunch. He saw me climbing over the railing and asked me to share his lunch with him. After receiving my puzzled look, he explained, "everyone should die happy. or at least with a full stomach." We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last month. GMH.

A month ago at my school, a transgender student was beaten to the ground for standing up to three other students who said that our campus hates gays. The next day, nearly half the entire campus rallied to show support of the LGBT community in the quad. The student that was beaten was crying. GMH.

I'm dying of lupus at age 17. I was brought home from the hospital to have my last week. I've been an avid Harry Potter fan for many years, and my mother is desperatly trying to find a way for me to see the new Harry Potter theme park. Little does she know, her love through all of this is far better than a day in Hogsmeade. She GMH.

Today I found out about a 10-year-old boy who has been harrassed by his classmates because he refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance. Why? He says that until gays and lesbians have equal rights, there isn't really "liberty and justice for all". Kids with the courage to stand up for their fellow human beings GMH.

A little girl was dying of cancer and her younger brother had a match for the bone marrow she needed. The doctors told him it was a matter of life and death. After he had the surgery, he asked the doctors how long he had to live. He thought if he gave his bone marrow to let his sister live he would die but he did it anyway. GMH

Today, I was in a bus station saying goodbye to my girlfriend.

Me, being a lesbian, kissed her and hugged her for a long time. After she got on the bus, a little boy comes up to me and hugs me. He said, "My mommy doesn't like people like you, but I do because you're really pretty."

On Mothers Day, a man was going to send his mom flowers instead of seeing her.

While at the store, a little boy was buying his mom flowers.

On the way back to his house, the man saw the boy in a graveyard, setting down flowers by a tomb. His mom died a year ago.

Seeing this, the man canceled his delivery and brought them to his mom himself. GMH.

One of my classmates in high school had leukemia, and he was really depressed after his first round of chemo when he came to school with no hair. When they found out about it, all 70+ members of the varsity football team shaved their heads too. Their yearbook picture is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. GMH

I lived at a sober living place in LA. It was a really rough neighborhood; I witnessed 2 arrests in 1 month. There were lots of taggers who would use spraypaint to deface the buildings. However, our buildings were always left alone; the taggers knew what we were there for and they respected us. GMH

Today, I stopped at a local used book store that is located on a pretty bad street in my neighborhood. Bringing my books to the front of the store, I met the owner, a quadriplegic man who asked me to put the money for the purchase into his front pocket. He has ran the store for 3 years and never once been robbed. GMH.

Freshman year, there was a crippled girl bound to a wheelchair. For 4 years, she did physical therapy and progressed to crutches. When we graduated a few weeks ago, she handed her crutches to an officer and walked across the entire stage. The applause from the seniors was deafening. She cried the whole way. GMH

Every year, the graduating 8th grade class votes for superlatives. The teachers add up the votes. When 'Jordan A' was announced for Most Inspirational, teachers were in tears to see our entire class who never get along, give a standing ovation. He died in a fire in fourth grade and we still consider him part of our class.

At my college graduation everyone is allowed to take a loved one with them as they walk across the stage. The last girl to walk across held the arm of her 90 year old grandpa. As they crossed the stage the chancelor read her grandfathers name. He graduated 60 years ago but didn't get to walk his own graduation because he was fighting in WWII. GMH.

My friend was raped at a party and later found out she was pregnant. Rather than abort, she carried the baby to term and gave it to a couple who was unable to conceive. The family still sends her photos of her little girl, and she posts every single one on her facebook. Her selfless courage GMH.

This weekend my best friend got into a car accident. The other driver was killed. She was consumed by guilt and threatened to kill herself. The other driver's wife sent her a letter saying that she would never blame her and she is sorry for everything she is feeling. Her forgiveness in such adversity GMH

My 6 year old cousin has leukemia and had to have a few radiation treatments recently. Through it all he has stayed strong. I used to be best friends with this girl, then through our sophmore year we faded apart.

Yesterday I got a text saying she had a feeling she was being called by God to talk to me. 20 minutes later I had a seizure in the middle of the mall. I'm 16, and that calling let me know God was watching over me.

Cancer claimed my daughter's life 3 years ago. Just a few weeks ago I attended what would have been her high school graduation. When the valedictorian and salutatorian, her friends, rose to give their speech, tears poured down my face. They dedicated their graduation to my daughter. GMH.

My dad would always start out conversations with''Do you have a girlfriend yet?''

After laughing and saying no hundreds of times I finally found the courage to tell him I was gay. After a long silence and a stressed out face or two, he calmy said, "Oh. Well.... Do you have a boyfriend yet?"

His fair love GMH.

A few weeks ago, I watched my 3 year old niece cross the finish line by herself at a run/walk, refusing to let anyone even hold her hands. The run/walk was held in her honor.
