I mentioned once on a facebook status that I didn't like what we had at home for me to bring to school for lunch, so I'd just skip lunch. The next day my friend put a paper bag lunch with my name on it on my desk. She didn't know that we didn't have any food at all for me to bring. Her kindness GMH.

My senior year, I was the only girl in one of my classes and was always teased by them for it. I still baked for every one of them on their birthday, expecting nothing back. My birthday was the last in the class. I walked in that day to 17 boys holding plates of cookies. They each baked for me, without talking to eachother about it. Those boys GMH

My little 8 year old sister has leukemia. Today I visited her in hospital and she said to me

"Ellie, I know I'm going to die. But I know that I'm going to be coming back as a kitten. So after I'm gone and when a kitten comes to your door. It will be me. I will always love you. Even when I'll be a cat".

Three years ago, a friend of mine died in a car accident due to drunk driving. I've taken care of her son ever since and today he hugged me and told me that he wished I married his mom before she died. I was driving the car. GMH

My Grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 1999 and had to live in a nursing home. My Grandpa would come and visit her twice a day for four years. While he was there, Grandpa would go and visit many of the other lonely residents. Grandma passed away in 2003, but Grandpa still goes to visit those residents every week. His love for others GMH.

Early this year, a Spanish teacher at my middle school died of cancer, leaving behind a son. The school banded together to raise money for a college fund. They raised $6,300. Six teachers and the Principal shaved their heads in support. One cut the ponytail he'd been growing since 1986. GMH.

I was sitting on the bench outside of work one day trying to fix my make up. An elderly man walked passed me with his groceries heading towards his car in the huge Walmart parking lot. He then returned back a minute or so later to tell me "you're beautiful without all that stuff, and you don't need it." Groceries still in hand. GMH

When I was seven, I was in a terrible car accident.

I woke up only to realize the car had flipped over on top of me and I was trapped beneath it. Later, I was told that a 5 college boys driving in the car behind us had lifted the car off me, and passed me from one to the other in a line until I was out of the woods.

During WWII, my friend's grandpa was captured and tortured, but he refused to reveal his mission. The japanese said if he didn't spill, they would kill the other five captured men. He wouldn't budge. He escaped, but he had to live with their blood on his hands. 25 years later, he found out they all lived. Not a single one talked. GMH

I recently cut my hair and donated it to locks of love.

As I approached the counter to pay for the haircut, the receptionist informed me that the gentleman who was getting his hair cut a few seats down from me had paid for my haircut.

He thought it was a wonderful thing that I was doing and that I shouldn't have to pay to help someone else. GMH.

I work in a coffee shop, and every time I make a hot chocolate for someone, I like to draw a pattern in chocolate sauce on the froth relevant to what I think they'd like. Smiley faces for little boys, love hearts and butterflies for the girls and sometimes, if I'm really lucky and hear their name, the first letter. Their laughter GMH.

A woman my mom works with has cancer and has been out of work for a long time. She recently found out she has to be out for longer but doesn't have enough sick days left to cover it. Every nurse on my mom's floor at the hospital is donating at least one of their paid sick days to her so she can finish her treatment -- and get paid for it. GMH.

Yesterday I turned my calculator on to do my math homework and "I love you" was written on the screen. My boyfriend said "I wrote it last Sunday and I've been waiting all week for you to turn it on." He knows I'm struggling with precalc and he can't help me, but his love and support make me want to do my best. It GMH.

Last Sunday, my dad was at a church service in Austin, TX. An obviously homeless man sat next to him in the pew.

During the offering, the man put $2 into the basket.

Today, the pastor of my church anounced that his 19-year-old daughter was pregnant out of wed-lock.

As the pastor's wife began to cry, a little boy ran up to her and hugged her saying, "It's okay! Babies are the best thing in the world, no matter what." GMH

I recently rung up a young boy and his mother. When he saw me at the register, wearing a hijab, he grinned broadly at me. As they were walking away afterwards, he tugged on his mom's sleeve and said,

"Did you see her, ma? She's gorgeous! I bet that's why she's all covered up."

Today, I saw my older brother for the first time in almost five years. Very shocked by his long hair, I asked him if he wanted me to cut it. He freaked out and said that he only needed to grow two more inches before he can have a wig made for his wife of almost 10 years, who's hair was beginning to fall out because of her cancer. His love GMH.

There's a boy at my school who is in a wheelchair. He can walk a little bit, but only for short periods of time. One of my best friends asked him to the school dance and that night I saw him in the middle of the gym, dancing to the music as best he could. People were staring, but he didn't care. His confidence GMH.

I work with kindergarten children, and when a little girl wet her pants, we decided to give her dress up clothes to wear.

She was very upset and embarrassed so a little boy in the class put on a cinderella dress and held her hand the rest of the day, saying "look - everyone's laughing at ME!"

Today, I IMed everyone online, whether they knew me or not, telling them they're beautiful. My friend wrote back " we need more ppl like you." I look on here, and I know there are more people like me. GMH

Today, my boyfriend told me that before we'd met, he had been a hardcore drug user and dealer for years, as well as a heavy drinker. When I asked why he stopped, he was silent before saying, "I wanted you to have better than that." Here's to my cupcake, 17 months clean. Derrick GMH.

Last summer I was working as an assistant wedding photographer in California during the brief period when gay couples could marry there. While working a wedding at the San Fransisco City Hall, I watched two old men in tuxedos help each other up the stairs in order to finally get married after over 30 years together. GMH.

When I did winter track in 9th grade, we had practice at the other high school in my town, so I didn't know the area well. I ran six miles in the wrong direction. Tired, I knocked at some house to ask for directions. Instead, the young couple who answered drove me all the way to the school. GMH

I woke up one morning to hear the birds outside my window and my mother cooking breakfast downstairs. I've never cried so much in my entire life. I had been deaf since the age of 8.

Today, I woke up and my wife was more beautiful than I'd ever seen her. We've been married 15 years. GMH

While I was working out I realized that I've lost over 50 lbs this past year by going to the gym nearly every day and eating right. After 5 years of struggling with my weight and participating in fad diets, I may still be overweight, but I'm finally starting to feel beautiful. It GMH.

A few months ago, I was at dinner with friends, and we ended up having an emotional talk (mostly about my self-esteem issues) and I cried for about half of dinner. When I got the receipt, the stunning waitress had written something across the top: "You're even beautiful when you cry." GMH

Every Wednesday my dad takes three hours out of his schedule to tutor children with below average reading scores. One year he noticed one boy had holes in his shoes. The next day he had me help him pick out Spiderman shoes, since that's the kid's favourite superhero. His time and thoughtfulness GMH.

A little girl was dying of cancer and her younger brother had a match for the bone marrow she needed. The doctors told him it was a matter of life and death. After he had the surgery, he asked the doctors how long he had to live. He thought if he gave his bone marrow to let his sister live he would die but he did it anyway. GMH

Today, I found GMH. After reading all the heartwarming stories, I walked into my room, and tore my suicide journal to shreds. I'm shaking out of happiness. GMH.

I'm fourteen, and I just had brain surgery.

I'll be out for our whole softball season, and I've been very depressed. I went to the first game, even though I couldn't play. I arrived to see every girl on the field had my number sewn on the front of their jersey.

I cried from happiness. My team GMH.

A boy was dying of cancer and needed an expensive brain surgery, but his family, broke and desperate, couldn't afford it. His 8 yr old took sister Tess took her piggy bank savings to a pharmacist in order to buy a 'miracle'. it just so happens that the right man witnessed the little girl's tears at the pharmacy counter: a neurosurgeon. He performed the surgery for free.

Today I found out about a 10-year-old boy who has been harrassed by his classmates because he refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance. Why? He says that until gays and lesbians have equal rights, there isn't really "liberty and justice for all". Kids with the courage to stand up for their fellow human beings GMH.

Today, I lost my virginity. I'm an avid WoW player and spend most of my time on Digg.com. GMH

I recently finished an amazing internship at a local high school and hoped to get a job there after graduation. Unfortunately the position I was hoping for ended up not opening. My boss contacted me recently and called me in to discuss job options. She told me she was willing to take a $7k pay cut to open a new position for me. GMH

My family & I got seperated in New York City when I was little. Scared, I sat crying on the sidewalk as tons of people passed by. A homeless man picked me up, comforted me, & carried me to a police officer, who found my parents. He had a long beard & I asked if he was Jesus. He laughed so hard he cried. He GMH.

My 4 year old brother has to take breakfast to nursery with him every morning.

Today, he was caught trying to sneak an extra packet of cereal into his lunchbox.

When asked why, he told us that his friend's dad forgot his breakfast yesterday, and he wanted to take him some just in case he forgot again.

Ten years ago, my friend made an enemy. They didn't click at all and I think my friend really hurt that person. Flash forward. My friend is broke w/ kids, & after getting into huge trouble, really needed a lawyer and was referred to one. The lawyer was her old enemy & she took the case. For free.

Over the summer, a teacher at my school went into a coma and her husband had to pull the plug, leaving him to care for their newborn twins. This year, our school's football team has dedicated every game to her memory and family, and her initials are on every team helmet. My team's love GMH.

Two years ago, I was told that without a kidney transplant, I was going to die.

Just as I felt like giving up, my best friend died in a car crash. It turned out a week before she had registered as an organ donor. Thanks to her, I am alive two years later.

Today, I proposed to my girlfriend of four years in a nice restaurant. When she said yes, the entire restaurant stood up and applauded.

A girl I went to high school with was diagnosed with Leukimia her Junior year. She lost all of her hair due to the chemotherapy and was pretty upset about it. One day, eight of her closest friends came to school with shaved heads, saying it was just hair, and who cared - bald is the new in. GMH

Today, there was a blood drive in my school.

As the nurse was putting betadine on my arm, I look over to see on of the senior girls from my class. She is terrified of needles and was trembling as she gave blood. When I asked her she gave a simple response: Fear shouldn't stop you from doing something right.

Once, I drove a normal looking teenager from the airport to downtown toronto in my taxi. for an hour he asked me questions and we talked about my life my family everything. When we arrived he asked what the biggest tip Id ever recieved was. i told him $80. He gave me a $100 tip and walked off. GMH

My little sister came home from school one day and demanded I take her to the library so she could get books on sign language.

I asked why? She told me there was a new kid at school who was deaf and she wanted to befriend him.

Today, I stood beside her at their wedding watching her sign... “I DO”.

Yesterday, I missed the bus to school, so my Muslim Afghani mother dropped me off with her headscarf on. I was scared about what the other kids would think when they saw her, but instead they bombarded me with questions about Islam and seemed fascinated to learn about another culture/religion. Their religious tolerance GMH!

Last summer, my best friend came over to cheer me up after a tough breakup. In the middle of our conversation, she jumped from my couch, and chased the ice cream truck four blocks down the street, because she thought ice cream would make me feel better. She was barefoot. Her love GMH.

Today, it has been almost three months since I have cut myself. Why?

On my last birthday, I got my late father's initials tattooed on my wrist. I don't care about ruining the tattoo, but it is now a constant reminder that it's wrong to violate what's his: Me.

My 14-year-old brother is mentally retarded and only has the mind of a 3-year-old.

Every time I cry in front of him, he brings me a Kleenex without being asked to. If I'm too upset to take it, he shoves it in my face as an attempt to wipe my tears himself.

Her brother was flying in from college to see her. She told everyone that she would stay awake until she saw her brother.

About a year ago, I found out that I was born from an unplanned pregnancy. My mom told me that my dad's only reaction was, that "If you don't want her, I do." My dad's dedication to my life, and constant love, GMH.

A month ago at my school, a transgender student was beaten to the ground for standing up to three other students who said that our campus hates gays. The next day, nearly half the entire campus rallied to show support of the LGBT community in the quad. The student that was beaten was crying. GMH.

One time my mom and I went to see a movie, but when we stepped up the booth to pay the worker told us the women in front of us had paid for us. My mom then decided to pay for the people's tickets behind us in line. Then people continued the cycle all the way til the end of the line. This spreading of simple kindness from one person to another GMH

Almost daily on my way home from work I would pass the same homeless man, and sometimes give him money when I had cash on me. One day he was suddenly gone. A week went by, then a couple months, then one day I bumped into him. He was dressed quite well, and handed me $100.00 and said "thanks, I finally got a job." GMH

22 years ago, a 16 year old girl was pregnant with a baby of rape.

Understanding the circumstances, her parents told her to abort or be disowned.

Her best friend - her 18 year old neighbor - although he was not the father, stepped into the father figures shoes. They got married 2 years later.

Today, I read that Houston elected its first gay mayor. Open-minded people GMH.

After my Uncle died, my Aunt had to sell her house to get by. While showing it, a Vietnamese woman saw her surname and asked if she was related to a certain General. When my Aunt said yes, the woman began to cry; that General had personally sheltered her family during the Vietnam War. This woman is now supporting my Aunt until she gets a job. GMH.

Today, I volunteered with the Midnight Run, an organization that gives food and clothing to the homeless right on the streets of NYC. A well dressed man in his thirties was out walking his dog, saw what we were doing, and gave the organization $400 right out of his wallet. He GMH.

When I was seven, I missed the school bus and didn't know my way home and was crying on the pavement. A group of 17-18yr old guys on their way to school saw me. Instead of laughing and walking by, they cheered me up and dropped me home by looking in my school books for my address. I've no idea who they were, but their care GMH.

A couple months ago, my little brother came home from his first day in kindergarten. When I asked him about his class, he said "there's a girl in my class, and she's so pretty!" The girl he was talking about is a bald 5 year old with leukemia. His unconditional love GMH.

Today, I saw one of the most popular seniors in my grade eat lunch with the wheelchair-bound, mentally-challenged freshman girl who is always by herself. She made the girl laugh and talked to her like she was no different than her other friends. The senior girl then invited her to go see Twilight this weekend. Her kindness GMH.

5 years ago, a friend from OK and I were talking about how we hardly ever get snow in TX. He said that he wished he could make it snow for me. Two years later, he died suddenly. By the time I found out, I had already missed the funeral. That same day, it snowed. Then it snowed again on my birthday. In April. Knowing he's watching over me GMH.

A long time ago, I was on the verge of committing suicide when a guy came to the roof to have lunch. He saw me climbing over the railing and asked me to share his lunch with him. After receiving my puzzled look, he explained, "everyone should die happy. or at least with a full stomach." We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last month. GMH.

Today, I was in the feminine-products aisle when a middle-aged man started asking me what brand I liked to use and which were the most effective, etc. It turns out that he is a single father to a preteen girl with Down Syndrome, and he was trying to find out which products work the best for his little girl. Caring, loving fathers GMH.

I was recently working at a nursery school where I saw a 3 year old girl wearing tights on her head. One of my colleagues told me it was because some of the children had been making fun of her bald head. She had had chemotherapy. I later saw one young boy of about 4 go over to her, tell her she was beautiful and remove the tights. GMH x

In my old neighborhood there were two homeless men that always spent their days together outside a nearby 7/11 with their dogs. After making my purchase, I gave them the money left over plus my allowance to buy some food. They went inside, coming out with a box of dog food. Their selflessness GMH.

I'm 16 and am about to have a baby. I work a minimum wage job with about 15 other people who are just barely making it. My boss told me that me being pregnant was making him look bad and that I need to quit. I did. So did everyone else working there.

One of my friends found out both her parents were hospitalized that same night. Financially unable to fly home, she went into work the next day - quietly mentioning her concern to a co-worker that she picks up every morning. Word got to her boss and he covered the flight expense and she was on her way home by that afternoon. Bosses with hearts GMH

A 5 year old boy in my town had leukemia. His wish for Make-a-Wish was to spend a day with Corbin Bleu (an actor in High School Musical), and he had a blast. Yesterday was the boy's funeral. Corbin flew in to our town with his dad and attended the funeral as a pallbearer. His selflessness GMH

When my mom was dying of cancer, my dad had to keep working to keep his health insurance. His midsize company has a program by which employees can transfer paid time off to one another. A person in HR sent out an email explaining his situation. Within 3 hours, my father had 12 weeks of paid vacation. Strangers' sacrifices GMH.

My girlfriend got the swine flu and was out of work for two weeks. Her paid time off wasn't enough to cover the absence. When she got her first paycheck after returning, she found one of her coworkers had donated 8 hours of paid time off to her. Anonymously. She's only been there 6 months. GMH.

I was diagnosed with a severe mental disease about a year ago. My boyfriend has put up with all of my paranoia, anger and odd things that I do. When i told him he should leave me because it wasn't fair to him, he said, "If i can't take you at your worst then i don't deserve you at your best." His unconditional love GMH.

I had been fighting with my husband for weeks, and during a trip with friends we finally ended it over the phone. I just collapsed on a park bench crying.

A popsicle cart passed nearby after nearly 30 minutes, and suddenly I saw a man walking over. He bought me a popsicle, comforted me, and gave me advice about love.

When I was a child I had just been yelled at by my parents, and went down to cry beside my pet rat's cage. When she noticed I was crying, she walked to her food bowl, grabbed a cracker, and handed it to me through the bars. Loving pets GMH.

Last year, I was going to kill myself. I wrote a note and slipped it into my best friend's locker at school. That night, I was preparing to die, when she crawled through my window and kissed me. My first real kiss.

Last summer, I went to Iowa for a week to visit my friends grandparents with her. One night I was walking up the stairs to go to sleep and I heard her grandpa's voice. I asked why he was up so late, and she responded "My grandpa still reads to my grandma at night." Their love GMH.

My dad has a job that requires him to do quite a bit of travelling. Every time he goes away, no matter how short the trip, he hides a card for my mom somewhere in the house. She always finds it with a picture, a quote, or a message telling her how much he misses her. They've been married 25 years. My parents enduring love and romance GMH.

Today, My grandmother got her first cellphone, and she called me over to change her background to a picture of my departed grandfather who died 16 years ago. Her never ending love, GMH.

My 8 year old friend, who has had brain cancer for over 2 years, had surgery for a port the other day (for chemo treatment)

I asked her if she was scared. Her only response, "Am I going to be able to swim?"

The whole ER laughed, including the surgeon. Her positive personality and courage GMH.

I work in an ICU, and yesterday while on shift I noticed that the same elderly man had been sleeping in the waiting room for four days. I asked him why he didn't go home for a sleep. Turns out he is the husband of a woman in isolation on the ward. In his words "We've been married 65 years, I couldn't sleep without her there anyway."

On night, a bunch of my friends and I were sitting on the ground, listening to a jazz concert. This random little boy, about 3 or 4 years old, comes up to my very critical friend and hands her a flower. She was smiling and happy for the rest of the night and couldn't stop mentioning the random little boy who was the first to ever give her flowers. GMH

This year I got divorced. When it came time to split our tax return like we'd agreed, at the last minute my ex-husband wrote me a check for the entire refund, even though he was completely entitled to half. It was $3000. When I asked him what he was doing he said, "I know you need it more than I do." Kind and generous people like him GMH.

About 15 years ago, it was illegal to have more than one child in China.

I was the second child. My parents gave up their houses, jobs, money and country just to have me.

My grandma died a week ago, and we were driving behind the funeral cars.

Very little people stopped to let us go, even though we had funeral flags and everything.

A whole construction team took off their hats, let us by, and stopped working. Their respect GMH.

Most kids come in with notes or messages written by their mothers in their lunch sacks.

One little girl's dad left, and her mother abuses drugs. But her 12 year old brother never fails to write "I love you" on her brown paper bag.

A few months ago, one of my best childhood friends died of cancer.

Devastated, I called my closest friend, and although he had to study for midterms, I talked to him the phone for almost an hour. About half an hour after we hung up, he showed up at my door out of the blue.

I went to Africa to help build an Orphan school when I saw a kid sitting on his own.

I walked up and gave him half of my sandwich, and he ran away.

Secretly following him around the corner, I saw him break it into small pieces and share it with his whole class of 20.

Yesterday my cousin told me about how her hairdresser in Beverly Hills, instead of buying lots of gifts for friends and family, goes to the post office in South Central LA, picks up letters to Santa by poor kids, buys all the gifts they asked for, and personally delivers them to their homes Christmas Eve. His kindness and generosity GMH.

An 11 year old girl in my area was kidnapped two days before Christmas. At first they didn't allow anyone but the police to search for her, but after a few days they announced that a public search party would be sent out, and anyone who wanted to look was to meet at the baseball stadium. 3,000 people showed up. It was Christmas morning. GMH.

I work as a waiter. One day a man was giving me a particularly hard time because his food wasn't fast enough and wasn't good enough, etc and all i wanted to do was cry. At the table behind him were four teenage girls, they left a 100% tip and a note saying 'Sorry that guy was such a jerk'. These girls GMH.

My grandpa is a white man who lived in South Africa during the apartheid. Despite criticism, judgement and even his brothers disowning him, he informally adopted a young black child whose mother could not look after him. Doing what you know is right despite it being frowned upon GMH.

I'd just been treated for cancer, and had been wearing a wig for the last couple of years. I recently got a new boyfriend and he didn't know about my condition. One day he came into my apartment while I wasn't wearing my wig.

I'm dying of lupus at age 17. I was brought home from the hospital to have my last week. I've been an avid Harry Potter fan for many years, and my mother is desperatly trying to find a way for me to see the new Harry Potter theme park. Little does she know, her love through all of this is far better than a day in Hogsmeade. She GMH.

I recently learned that every time my parents were fighting when I was younger, my big sister would tell me a story, or listen to music with me & have a dance party. Even if her boyfriend was over, she would embarrass herself to let me have a happy childhood. To this very day, my sister GMH.

The other day, I was being picked on at school as usual when I felt a sticky post it note being taped to my back. Thinking it said "Kick Me" or somthing along those lines, I ripped it off and was about to throw it away when I saw that it said "Ignore the bullies - you're beautiful," It made my day. GMH.

On the night of Dec. 30, Haleigh Hess from Kent, Washington posted a suicide note on Tumblr, a social networking site.

In minutes, over 400 of people reblogged her post to gain awareness. The local police dept received over 60 calls from all over warning them, and hey got to her in time.

Hundreds of people who have never met in real life coming together to save a stranger GMH.

I was on the bus on my way to the mall, when a homeless man sat next to me.

He saw that I was looking at the bouquet of flowers he held, and told me that they were for his wife because today is her birthday.

As he got off the bus, he walked into the cemetery and placed the flowers on his wife's grave.

Today, I came across a video of CNN reporter Anderson Cooper reporting the news in Haiti.

Chaotic looting had broken out all around him. Suddenly, the looting turned violent, and a young boy was laying on the ground, gushing blood.

In the chaos, Cooper stopped reporting, sprinted over, and dragged the stunned boy to safety. GMH

During WWII, my family's home in Western Russia was pillaged by the German Army.

After the fall of communism, an elderly man showed up to the now rebuilt house. He told my grandmother that he was a former German soldier, and he wanted to return the jewelry he stole from the house.

My freshmen year of highschool a sophmore girl with mental problems was elected to homecoming court as a cruel joke of some popular girls in her grade.

I use a power wheelchair on a college campus. One day, my chair battery died in the middle of campus with 3 more classes to attend and no way to get there. Today when I walked into the student center at my college, there was a table raising money and awareness for victims of sexual assault on my campus. At his daughter's wedding, he not only danced the entire father-daughter dance, but he sang the whole song to her: he'd been practicing for weeks at the hospital so that he could remember every word. Today I remembered GMHs about people writing notes saying, "Smile. You are beautiful" in Eating Disorder recovery books. I decided to do the same at my local bookstore. A four year old boy saw what I was doing and helped me make notes for more than 50 books. He GMH.

There is an awesome restaurant in Washington state. Anyone is welcome to come and eat, they're even waited on, all without charge. At the end of the meal, diners can make a donation in any amount they choose. All money goes to helping less fortunate people in the town. Owners like that GMH.

About a year before my dog died, he started to go blind.

When my cat realized this, she began helping him find his way by rubbing against his legs, running ahead of him, and meowing loudly so he could follow the sound of her voice.

Freshman year of high school I tried out for the girl's varsity soccer team. When I didn't make it I was crushed because I had put all my heart into it. I work at a hair salon, and every Saturday this man brings his wife in to get her hair washed and blow dried. She had a stroke and cannot walk or talk, he also puts her lipstick and blush on for her every morning, they have been together for over 50 years. Their love GMH

The other day I was babysitting for a 7 year old boy and he asked me if a boy had ever kissed me. When I told him no he grabbed my hand and planted a big kiss on it. His love GMH

When I entered middle school I saw this super cute seventh grade boy. I liked him ever since that day even though we NEVER talked. Then one day in my sophomore year he came up to me during lunch. He said, "You know, I've always thought you were beautiful." That blew me away. We have been married for 11 years. To this day he GMH.

When my friend was serving in Vietnam, he wrote to a ten-year-old girl through a Pen Pal progam. After thirty years of no contact, he got a call from her. She had tracked him down, using only his home state and name (he has a very common last name), just to let him know the what an impact he made on her life. They are now close friends. GMH

I work in a little local shop and we don't make a lot of money. Recently I had a lady come in and hand me $15. She then told me that she placed an order about a week ago and when she was rung up, they undercharged her and being a small business she wanted us to have the money. Her honesty GMH!

A friend of mine does the lighting for Nickelback. While setting up for a show, he fell 12 feet landing on his head and back. He was not insured and the band paid for all his hospital bills, flew out his girlfriend, his mom, and aunt, and paid for their food and lodging for 2 weeks. Nickelback GMH.

Today, I went to Panda Express. There was a homeless man sitting outside, and I saw a lady buy an extra panda bowl to give to him. He thanked her repeatedly and walked to the bus stop. As if this wasn't GMH worthy enough, a homeless woman came and sat next to him. I could see them while I ate. He shared his panda bowl with her. GMH.

Yesterday, it was late and I was heading to my car in the parking lot after work and three young guys come up to me and start talking. I was scared, until one draped his arm around me and silently showed me a text on his phone, telling me there was a dodgy guy following me and that they would make sure I got to my car safely. Their kindness GMH.

Today was my first day of school at college and I was already having a bad day. Then, as I was leaving one of the classroom buildings, a guy handed me a little plastic bag that had a lollipop and a piece of paper in it. He said “Have a wonderful day!” The piece of paper had stories from GMH on it. That guy made my day. GMH.

I got into a very disfiguring car accident a few weeks ago. When I got out of the hospital, no one smiled at me. Everyone stares in horror. Today, a young woman sat by me on the bus and started a conversation about my book with me. When she left, she smiled genuinely at me. Her casual acceptance GMH.

Today I saw that someone had changed some graffiti on the subway from "kill yourself" to "fulfill yourself." GMH

Today, I took a stroll through Manhattan, and I saw a man put a quarter in a parking meter. He then put a quarter in every parking meter that needed time on it so they wouldn't get towed. GMH

When I was at the store, a family couldn't afford all of the groceries they were going to buy. As they were putting the ones they could afford in their cart (which wasn't that much) the lady behind them said "I will pay for them." The family thanked her repeatedly. This happened 5 years ago and I still smile when I think about it. GMH.

Two years ago, my husband and I were planning to get divorced. My mother was dying of ovarian cancer and didn't know we were separating. Her last wish was for us to work out our problems and not get divorced, so we agreed we had to at least try. I've never been happier. I've never looked back. GMH

Today in class we were peer editing each others papers. My crush and I always partner up, and so we peer edited each others.

When I looked at his paper, it only had a single word on it:

"You."

Last year, a girl at my school died from a brain tumor. The whole school raised over $10,000 dollars for her family so the medical expenses would be paid off. My school has only 300 people in it. You guys GMH!

Today, I was walking to my car after work. I saw a large rougher looking man walking out to a dumpster and covering something up. As I got closer, he leaned down and a kitten appeared from underneath.. he was sneaking food out to a baby kitten. GMH.

When I was little, I started crying because I didn't have enough money to buy my lunch and I was hungry. My teacher gave me her lunch that day, and pooled money from the teachers to put enough money in my lunch account to get lunches for the rest of the year. She GMH.

Jerry, high school janitor, took the time to know outcasts and struggling kids. He always had candy and kind words. One girl was struggling a lot. He made her a deal, if she graduated he would dye his hair pink. 3 years later she graduated. Our janitor now has pink hair. Doing more than your job GMH.

In the late 80's there was a man named, Brad Cohen, who was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome.

He was beaten, mocked, and harassed daily, but he wanted to be a teacher. After 24 schools turned him down because of his tics, one school gave him a chance for one year.

That year he won the Georgia's Teacher of the Year award. He GMH

My mom told me today about a lady who had come into her store last night. At one point, she had brain cancer and three days to live. After that, she got breast cancer and had it surgically removed, giving her tumors. She has had ten surgeries and breast cancer four times, and has survived each one. She's still positive each day. GMH

I was walking down the street and moving slowly in front of me was a couple.

The woman was elderly and being pushed in a wheelchair by a nurse. Her elderly husband who could barely walk himself held a cane in one hand and her arm in his other. Their love for one another was stronger then their frailty.

I work two jobs and money is very tight.

One day, I was ordering dinner at Subway, and when I got to the register, I realized that I didn't have enough money to pay for my meal. Embarrassed, I left the store and started walking home.

After a few minutes, I was stopped by a man in a Subway uniform who gave me a free sandwich and a hug. GMH.

My brother has a friend, Gavin, in his class. He has long hair.

He told me a lot of kids give him weird looks because of his hair and because he hugs people a lot.

He told me Gavin was diagnosed with cancer when he was four, recovered from it and now donates his hair to Locks of Love and hugs people to make them feel better.

Today I was going out for a coffee with my boyfriend. On the way I passed a homeless man and gave him $5. When I got to Starbucks my boyfriend dumped me. I walked home crying, and when I passed the homeless man he told me how sorry he was, and offered to buy me a coffee. He used the $5 I gave him, and smiled proudly as he handed over the money. GMH

My dad would always start out conversations with''Do you have a girlfriend yet?''

After laughing and saying no hundreds of times I finally found the courage to tell him I was gay. After a long silence and a stressed out face or two, he calmy said, "Oh. Well.... Do you have a boyfriend yet?"

Yesterday I got a text saying she had a feeling she was being called by God to talk to me. 20 minutes later I had a seizure in the middle of the mall. I'm 16, and that calling let me know God was watching over me.

A boy in my class, Evan, recently passed away from cancer.

Orange was his favorite color. That next Monday, EVERYONE in my school corporation, kindergartners through seniors in high school, wore orange in honor of him.

Most people had never even met him, but chose to support him by wearing orange.
