i still do not know what to write in the about me section. I'm a lot of different things, and i dont know how to put it all here. i would just say im friendly, nice, and not too shy but not too crazy. *I also thnk that gmh is one of the best things that could have happend, its a very good site in which u can just forget your worries and smile at every story they have :), I've been trying to tell everyone about this site. gr! im trying to find the story of the girl who wanted to kill herself but didn't because she wanted to know how Harry Potter ended!!I love that story!!!*found it* yay :)

A long time ago, I was on the verge of committing suicide when a guy came to the roof to have lunch. He saw me climbing over the railing and asked me to share his lunch with him. After receiving my puzzled look, he explained, "everyone should die happy. or at least with a full stomach." We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last month. GMH.

When I was 17, I was told by my OB-GYN that I would be unable to ever bear children of my own. Hearing this news simply tore me apart. When I came home and my youngest sister found me crying, she hugged me and told me that she would be more than happy to be my surrogate. GMH

Today, I found GMH. After reading all the heartwarming stories, I walked into my room, and tore my suicide journal to shreds. I'm shaking out of happiness. GMH.

5 years ago, a friend from OK and I were talking about how we hardly ever get snow in TX. He said that he wished he could make it snow for me. Two years later, he died suddenly. By the time I found out, I had already missed the funeral. That same day, it snowed. Then it snowed again on my birthday. In April. Knowing he's watching over me GMH.

I'm dying of lupus at age 17. I was brought home from the hospital to have my last week. I've been an avid Harry Potter fan for many years, and my mother is desperatly trying to find a way for me to see the new Harry Potter theme park. Little does she know, her love through all of this is far better than a day in Hogsmeade. She GMH.

Last year, I was going to kill myself. I wrote a note and slipped it into my best friend's locker at school. That night, I was preparing to die, when she crawled through my window and kissed me. My first real kiss.

At my college graduation everyone is allowed to take a loved one with them as they walk across the stage. The last girl to walk across held the arm of her 90 year old grandpa. As they crossed the stage the chancelor read her grandfathers name. He graduated 60 years ago but didn't get to walk his own graduation because he was fighting in WWII. GMH.

The hardest part for me about my daughter being autistic is that she didn't recognize me as her mother. This week we were pointing at things in a book- "where's the cat?" "where's the ball?" and I asked her "where's the mommy?" and she turned around and pointed at me. GMH

I have a little sister who suffers from mental retardation. My mother told her I was gay and that "gay people don't go to heaven'. My sister started sobbing saying, "It wouldn't be heaven if Paloma wasn't there." My sister's unconditional love GMH.

Today is my birthday. A couple months ago I was attacked by a dog that left horrendous scars on my face. My boyfriend made a book that says "You're the most beautiful thing I have ever seen" in over 100 different languages. GMH

Today I found out about a 10-year-old boy who has been harrassed by his classmates because he refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance. Why? He says that until gays and lesbians have equal rights, there isn't really "liberty and justice for all". Kids with the courage to stand up for their fellow human beings GMH.

When I was 15 I tried to kill myself by taking an entire bottle of pills. I went and laid on the top bunkbed so that I could die and then I heard my baby brother laugh. I used all my strength to fall off my bunkbed so that someone would hear it and find me. I am now 29 with a college degree and newly married. My baby brother GMH.

I was talking with this little girl I used to babysit for before I started college. I explained to her that I'd be gone for a while and would only see her when I came home for vacations. She said, "So you'll be gone for the whole year except summer and holidays?" I nodded. Then she said, "So you're going to Hogwarts?" GMH

My father is an eye surgeon. One day we saw a TV show about a blind toddler being raised by his single father. My dad recognized the symptoms of the blindness and knew that it could be treated through surgery. He gave the surgery to the kid for free and now he can see. My father's sense of duty GMH.

My brother has Down Syndrome and doesn't speak very well. This week while we were down the beach he tried to learn how to skim board.He would try and ask the other boys how they did it and they would laugh at him and walk away. The last day 4 teenage boys spent hours with him teaching him. They were so patient. He wouldn't stop smiling :)They GMH.

I was reading about a little kid whose mom told him the key to life was happiness. When he was in school the teacher asked them to write down what they wanted to be when they grew up. He said happy. They said he didn't understand the assignment. He said they didn't understand life. My generation GMH

I was in class one day when my boyfriend, who had been deployed for two years, came walking into the classroom. I had no idea he was back in the States. I've never cried harder in my life then I did when I saw him walk in. As I was hugging him, he got down on one knee and proposed to me. We're getting married in the fall. GMH.

A little girl was dying of cancer and her younger brother had a match for the bone marrow she needed. The doctors told him it was a matter of life and death. After he had the surgery, he asked the doctors how long he had to live. He thought if he gave his bone marrow to let his sister live he would die but he did it anyway. GMH

If you're reading this, I want to be the first to tell you that you look beautiful today. You guys GMH.

Once, I was in the emergency room with severe stomach pain. I never cry in public, but I was in such pain I couldn't help just sobbing. I watched as patient after patient went in ahead of me. After about an hour, a man sitting near me was called for his turn. He took one look at me, shook his head and said 'she can go ahead of me'. GMH

Every year, the graduating 8th grade class votes for superlatives. The teachers add up the votes. When 'Jordan A' was announced for Most Inspirational, teachers were in tears to see our entire class who never get along, give a standing ovation. He died in a fire in fourth grade and we still consider him part of our class.

Freshman year, there was a crippled girl bound to a wheelchair. For 4 years, she did physical therapy and progressed to crutches. When we graduated a few weeks ago, she handed her crutches to an officer and walked across the entire stage. The applause from the seniors was deafening. She cried the whole way. GMH

My younger brother was born with a severe disability. My parents are his main caretakers and the thought of what will happen to him when they're gone has always scared me. I confided this in my boyfriend recently and without skipping a beat, he said "we'll take him." His understanding GMH.

today i was on FML.com.my little sister came up and took control of the computer and told me to turn around when she told me to look she had sent me to givesmehop.com. she said " i dont know why you were on such a depressing site when this one's much better!" she's 9.

A few weeks ago, I watched my 3 year old niece cross the finish line by herself at a run/walk, refusing to let anyone even hold her hands. The run/walk was held in her honor. She was in a car accident 8 months before. Doctors said she would never live off machines. She has a ways to go, but she GMH.

After reading every GMH on the site, I texted and emailed all my friends and relatives, telling them how much they mattered to me and that I loved every single one of them. Within an hour, everyone had replied back telling me that they loved me too. Even ones I haven't talked to in years. GMH

Today my boyfriend and I spent the entire day together. While we were laying on the grass and talking, he told me I made him the happiest man on earth. My boyfriend has been clinically depressed for the last 6 months. This definitely GMH.

Today, my friend was upset because of a lot of family problems that had piled up on her recently. Her little step-brother, who is ten years old and has Down's syndrome, asked why she was crying, and she replied "Because my heart hurts." He went and got her a bandaid. His kindness GMH.

Months ago, my friend and I drove around all night leaving a single rose and namecard on a dozen different porches of guys that have always made us smile. I hope when they woke up the next morning and found them.. it made them smile too. GMH

I lost a very special necklace given to me by my 17 yo. boyfriend. I felt sick over it as it was so sentimental. Months later, my boyfriend found it in the cushion of our sofa. Only years later did I discover that he had saved up money to have an identical replica made so he could 'find it' for me and I would no longer feel so bad. That memory GMH

My mother, who doesn't speak much English, was driving home from work when a man crashed into the driver's side & drove off laughing. Four men witnessed the accident. One drove after him, another wrote down his license plate, the other called the police, & the last man pulled over to help her out of the car. They GMH.

My first year of college I was suicidal. One night I was fed up with life and swallowed a whole bottle of Tylenol. Right before I fell asleep, my friend texted me and said "You are the best friend I have." That text gave me the strength to make myself throw up and go to the ER. I am now married and happier than I've ever been. Her friendship GMH

Toward the end of last year, my father lost his job. On December 20th, my family opened the mailbox to find four gift certificates to our favorite restaurants and department stores with a note attached that read "Merry Christmas! -Anonymous." I still don't know who it was from, but it still GMH.

Two years ago today I was stuck over night in the chicago airport. The airport refused to get us a hotel, rental car or money for food. However, one woman working for the airport bookstore opened up her store for me so I could purchase Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and read it at midnight.

Lately my dad has been really angry and distant, and i feel like it's just wearing my mom down. I went home to visit today and found a journal in the bathroom. Each day my dad writes a new thing he loves about my mom and leaves it for her to read. GMH

My 12 year old son has been fighting cancer for more than 7 years. Yesterday as he laid in his hospital bed, receiving chemo to prepare for a bone marrow transplant, he asked me for his wallet. He wanted to count his money to make sure he had enough to buy Christmas gifts for his siblings and an extra one... for toys for tots. My son ALWAYS GMH

I was diagnosed with a severe mental disease about a year ago. My boyfriend has put up with all of my paranoia, anger and odd things that I do. When i told him he should leave me because it wasn't fair to him, he said, "If i can't take you at your worst then i don't deserve you at your best." His unconditional love GMH.

My twin sister was up late writing an essay. She was signed into MSN and noticed a boy's display name, saying he needed major help with the paper. My sister signed into my account, stayed up until 12 helping him under my name, then had to do her own as well. The most amazing part? This boy was the one who makes fun of her weight daily. She GMH

I've suffered from depression for about three years, and have struggled with suicide and self-harm. I've been cut-free for months. I had a horrible day, and turned to the razor. All of a sudden, my phone vibrated. It was GMH's Twitter. It's my sixty eighth day without self harming. This site GMH.

My mom had surgery for breast cancer a few months ago. For the month that she was in the hospital recovering, my dad drove the 6 hour round trip every day so she wouldnt be alone. My daddy GMH.

I was at an electronics store when I saw an employee playing Mario Kart with a little boy. They were sharing a single controller, working together to play the game. The boy had only one arm and wouldn't have been able to play the game otherwise. The boy's smile was a mile wide. Those two GMH.

Over the summer, a teacher at my school went into a coma and her husband had to pull the plug, leaving him to care for their newborn twins. This year, our school's football team has dedicated every game to her memory and family, and her initials are on every team helmet. My team's love GMH.

My family lives from paycheck to paycheck, and it often means that we have to go without groceries. When I overcame my pride and managed to tell my best friend about our money problems, she bought me lunch every single day for my entire grade eleven school year and wouldn't let me try to pay her back. Today, I fell in Love with my love of my life. I've been single for 20 years and i'm 58. GMH

My brother just told me that he's glad he was born first, because he'd never be able to live up to me. Luckily, he's gone into the kitchen now and can't see me crying. His faith in me GMH.

My dad owns a small business that isnt doing so well right now. Hes known the other employees for a very long time. He always makes sure that they get paid, even when he doesnt. He doesnt tell them, but he takes money out of his savings for them. He GMH.

A few years ago, my mother had a minor operation. The morning of the surgery, we were in the admissions line, and she was crying and scared of going under the knife. The woman in front of us in line spent 20 minutes talking to her, consoling her, etc. Then we asked her what she was there for: surgery to remove a brain tumor. Her strength GMH.
