Want to get your story posted? The way the story is written is VERY important. Try to end your story with a punch-line. If you can, QUOTE SOMEBODY in the story. It's OK to capitalize a word or two to add emphasis. And USE (first) NAMES!

How it works: GMH visitors vote on all submissions on the 'Vote on Upcoming Stories' page for 4 days, and the best stories each day are posted on the home page. So if your story doesn't appear there, as many as 100 people still read it and smiled while moderating!

While I'm working in comes this tough stereotypical bad guy.

I take his order:

Another worker takes an elderly woman's order.

The woman is trying to pay in food stamps but can't.

Without hesitation the man takes his extra money and hands it to her with a smile telling her to enjoy her food.

His Kindness GMH.

Today, I was in my preschool class.

One of the girls was having a rough day and was about to cry.

Another girl came over and asked, "Do you need a hug?"

The other girl shook her head yes and started to cry.

The whole time the girl hugged her and told her it was going to be okay.

Thoughtful kids GMH.

My best friend was adopted.

His old mom never gave him toys - "he didn't deserve any," according to her.

He never even heard of Santa before.

When his adoptive mom heard this, she told him about Santa, and on Christmas day he woke up to piles of presents, consisting of toys, blocks, and a bike.

He's 15, and couldn't be happier.

GMH.
