Random acts of kindness
In the last week of school I was walking down the stairs and saw two Year 10 girls trying to tape something to rails on the stairwell.
I rolled my eyes and assumed it was something stupid.
As I walked post I read that it said "Smile, you're beautiful."
Those girls give me hope.
My body and face are covered in small, self inflicted scars.
My mother often yells at me about the appearance of my skin, and how awful the scars make me look.
I finally admitted to my boyfriend how the scars make me feel.He said they give me character. It was the first time I didn't feel ashamed of them.

I was broken down on the side of the freeway, fussing with a flat tire.
Three different vehicles stopped to help me, the first guy taking my spare away to be filled with air since it was low.He didn't know where a gas station was so he had to drive for ages to find one.

My younger brother, Matt, has always been the cool, popular, class clown in school.
One year, he had a classmate named Norma that had special needs and was in a wheelchair. On her birthday, Matt showed up to school with a Care Bear in his arms, and handed it to her.Norma never looked so happy.
