Want to get your story posted? The way the story is written is VERY important. Try to end your story with a punch-line. If you can, QUOTE SOMEBODY in the story. It's OK to capitalize a word or two to add emphasis. And USE (first) NAMES!

How it works: GMH visitors vote on all submissions on the 'Vote on Upcoming Stories' page for 4 days, and the best stories each day are posted on the home page. So if your story doesn't appear there, as many as 100 people still read it and smiled while moderating!

My favorite coworker just retired at the end of last month, about 4 years earlier than he originally had wanted to.

Why?

Because he knew that doing so would save the jobs of two other coworkers who had gotten their layoff notices this spring.

His selflessness GMH, especially in times like these.

I just had a final necessary surgery yesterday fixing my nose from a cleft lip.

The other day, I put my hair up messily in a restaurant's bathroom.

A little girl looked at me slowly while she was drying her hands, smiled, and said "You're pretty!"

Little girls that don't care if you need surgery GMH:).

A boy that I haven't spoken to for Six years, hand posted me a letter with some money.

It said that he was very sorry to hear about my mum passing away a few months ago, and that he hopes the money could go some way towards the fundraising I am doing for CancerResearch.

He left before I could thank him.

Old friends who never forget.GMH.

Some awesome lists!

On my way home from work, I noticed an older man with a walker, struggling to make his way down the street.

As I stopped at a light, I watched a cab driver pull over and ask them man if he needed a ride, and then he help the man into the car.

The cab driver's thoughtfulness, GMH.

I was walking by my park, feeling extremly down, and depressed.

I was planning on killing myself later that night, when a kid no older than 9, was handing out flowers.

He looked at me and said "I dunno who you are, but you are pretty, so smile okay?"And gave me a big red rose.
