Want to get your story posted? The way the story is written is VERY important. Try to end your story with a punch-line. If you can, QUOTE SOMEBODY in the story. It's OK to capitalize a word or two to add emphasis. And USE (first) NAMES!

How it works: GMH visitors vote on all submissions on the 'Vote on Upcoming Stories' page for 4 days, and the best stories each day are posted on the home page. So if your story doesn't appear there, as many as 100 people still read it and smiled while moderating!

One stop from home, my sister realised she'd forgotten to buy a connecting ticket.I spoke to the train driver before we hopped onboard; he let us on for free because it was Christmas.

Today, my mom, my little brother and I were going on a picnic.

On the way there, there was a homeless man on the side of the road.

My mom immediately pulled the car over, talked to the man for an hour, and gave him her sandwich. When the light turned green again, he hugged her, broke into tears and told her he loved her.

My mom's kindness GMH.

I was at a school dance recently.

I spent nearly an hour on my outfit and make-up, just so a guy I liked would notice me.He didn't.

As I was leaving the dance, disappointed, another guy comes up to me and says, "You look really beautiful tonight."It made my weekend.

His kindness GMH.

At my mom's wedding, she was very insecure about how she looked and was really worried about it.

After the wedding, we went out to eat, my mom still in her dress and a little girl walks by and tugs at her mom.She says, "Mommy, that woman looks like a princess."

That little girl GMH.

My family and I just spent a few days in Washington D.C.

Every morning, we had breakfast at Starbucks.

One morning when we were outside eating, I saw a women walk out with two coffees.

She gave one to a homeless man sitting on the sidewalk and put her change in someone else's parking meter.

People like her GMH.
