Last year, I told my family about my relationship with an Iranian immigrant named Mohammad.
My father, an officer in the military and lifelong soldier, screamed in my face that Muslims are the enemy, furious that I would betray my country and The Lord. 
 
My father now refers to Mohammad as family. 
 
His willingness to learn and give up prejudice GMH
