When my uncle Alan was first diagnosed with cancer, I baked him cookies, and my little brother drew a bald superhero based on him called Atomic Alan.
Sadly, my uncle didn't make it. 
 
 On the one-year anniversary of his passing, I wrote "Atomic Alan" on my arm. 
 
Every single one of my friends asked me to write it on them, too.
