Last night my daughter asked me to drive her to the mall to meet her friend but I didn't have time and it was raining.
My daughter ran a mile in the cold rain to meet her friend.   
I later found out it was so that her friend wouldn't have to be alone when her abusive mother refused to come pick her up.
